What we collect about a business
We read public information about local service businesses: the Google Business Profile, the company website, public review sites and public directories. We send a request through a company's website and call its published phone number the way a new customer would, and we write down when and how the company answered. We record our calls to businesses where the law lets one side of a call record it, and our phone company's software writes them out; the recordings stay in our records. We read the reviews a company's customers post publicly, so that the letter can say how many name a service, a technician or the town; we never contact those customers and never print a reviewer's name.
What we collect when you contact us
When you call or text a number printed on a letter from us, or on this website, we keep your phone number, the time of the call or text, the text you sent, and a recording and a written copy of any message you leave on our voicemail. When you email us, we keep the email. We use these to answer you and to keep a record of our conversation.
Text messages from our numbers
We send a text message only in reply to contact you started: to a phone number that texted us, or one text to a number that called the number printed on our letter when nobody picked up (the greeting says the text will follow; at most one a day, never after STOP). We do not send marketing texts. Message frequency varies with your questions: replies to your own texts and calls, a few messages a day at most. Message and data rates may apply. The number printed on our letters is (518) 759-7065; our letter line page shows it with the sentence printed under it, and the full texting terms are on our Terms and Conditions page.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, text messages or texting consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Demo websites
We build a demo of a business's home page and print its address in the letter we mail to the owner (an address under leadrepairkit.com/demo/). The demo is a sample made by us, not the business's own website, and it says so on the page. Its request form sends what you type — your name, phone number, message and the time you ask for — to us, Local Business Advisors, not to the business. Dillon reads it, it is kept in our records for the business, and it is deleted when you ask. The page also tells us that it was opened: the date and time, the kind of browser, and a coded version of the connection address that changes every day and is never the address itself. Nothing on a demo page is sold or shared, and no other company's code runs on it.
Who else sees it
The companies that carry our calls, texts and email and host our systems process this information for us under contract, and for no purpose of their own. We do not sell any of it. We share it when the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep the record of a business, and of our conversation with its owner, for as long as we work with that business or could work with it, and we delete it when you ask us to.
